Learning comes to life at Redland Museum — through hands-on tours, curriculum kits, and student experiences.
Redlands Coast Museum offers ten-week internships for tertiary students seeking real-world museum experience.
Interns are immersed in both research and practical tasks, with opportunities to create exhibits, curate collections, and explore specialty areas of the museum — all while aligning their work with academic goals.
Our internship program is built to be immersive, educational, and professionally supported. Interns are paired with experienced mentors and given opportunities to explore multiple areas of museum operations.
Interns work under the guidance of museum educators and researchers. You’ll receive ongoing feedback, collaborate on meaningful tasks, and gain a strong understanding of day-to-day museum practice.
From hands-on object handling and exhibit development to behind-the-scenes archival work, interns are exposed to a range of specialties, allowing them to tailor their experience to their interests and academic goals.
Intern research and projects are catalogued and preserved in the Museum Library, becoming part of the historical record for future students and scholars.
Many displays created by interns continue to educate and inspire museum visitors long after the internship ends.
