Based on 290 reviews Magnificent Museum! Kind staff, interesting projects and wonderful kids area! I wasn’t setting my standards too high, but I got blown away by the set ups of old furniture and displays of old electronics and furniture! They have a barn and a church with historical objects from the 18-1900s. There is lots of interactable objects like the working play phone in the kids area and the fruit sorting machine you can use. One of my favourite things includes the life size tram you can role-play and sit on. Overall a very amazing experience and culture. They also have free water and purchasable biscuits. Perfect place for parties and events with a welcoming environment with lots of historical artefacts! Definitely recommend! Sarah O23 March 2025 Could be better if admission got lower from 12 aud. Matti Suomalainen17 March 2025 It was a blessing to be here. Jaydan Troy3 March 2025 I really loved the Redlands Coast Museum. I had previously visited a similar museum in Petrie which was a bit underwhelming and I had low expectations here. But the place was very well done and had a huge variety of artefacts and far exceeded my expectations. It’s a great place to visit for kids to teach them about “the olden days”. Well done team! Bijan Azmoodeh19 January 2025 Great little museum, lots of variety for the intrest and some interactive items. Only $12 entry. Alexandra WR8 January 2025 The best favorite museum I have been visit ever! Supper friendly staffs, nice rooms with full of ancient stuffs. I felt like stepping back old centuries, everything so beautiful, an ancient beauty..... it's incredible! So lucky evething got protect carefully and we have chance to see. T & T Family13 December 2024 This place is loads of fun and a lot more 'hands on' than most museums. My two have enjoyed a good couple of hours or so. It was nice to find their small coffee shop had soy, oat, and almond milks on offer, considering many small coffee shops don't. We'll come again. Elaine Tilson11 December 2024

Tutor Profile
Meekz Contemporary Jewellery is the independent label of Brisbane-based silversmith Jemica Ostrofski. In 2009, Jemica graduated from the Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Art with First Class Honours, after majoring in Gold and Silversmithing and gaining a passion for minimalist sculptural form. She relocated to the country to be with family in 2010, where she was able to finally call home and transform an old horse stable into her studio and pursue her jewellery full-time.
Working from her now Lutwyche-based home, Jemica loves being able to draw inspiration from the country, from the urban built environment, society and design, geometric forms and costume and fashion jewellery. The tactile nature of working with raw materials alongside existing forms always creates a dialogue for her and continually keeps her searching for ways to express new stories.
Using traditional silversmithing techniques such as hand sawing, soldering, hammer texturing, etching and oxidising, Jemica brings to life her sketched drawings to create statement pieces that can be worn every day. Adopting an ethically responsible and environmentally friendly practice, all Meekz collections are made using recycled, reclaimed and repurposed materials such as road signs, sterling silver, electrical wire, aluminium, copper and brass, transforming the everyday into something unique and beautiful.
In 2014, Jemica pursued her passion to teach and ran her first small group workshop with much success. She now runs workshops in metal texturing (mark making with metal), recycled wire weaving (her signature jewellery style of wire manipulation and weaving), riveting and hand sawing (traditional riveting and hand sawing skills), copper ring making (metal texturing and ring making techniques) and traditional ring making for two (traditional soldering techniques used in ring making). More workshops are available and all are fully customisable. Jemica runs her workshops from several locations in Queensland – Grounded Village Studios in Jimboomba, Tinker and Cobb and Co Museum in Toowoomba and independently from home at her studio in Lutwyche. Private in-home sessions are available on request, as are primary and high school day / weekly/monthly workshop sessions.
